This studio offers instruction throughout the year, meaning we don’t take extended breaks. We do adhere to all national holidays (basically, if the bank is closed, so are we). If the studio is closed, you will receive an email reminder one week in advance.
The studio will be CLOSED on the following days:
- New Years’ Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- George Washington’s Birthday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Columbus Day
- Veterans Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Black Friday
- Christmas Eve
- Christmas Day through New Years’ Day
Invoices are sent via email on the 15th of each month and are due by the 1st of the following month (i.e. for February lessons, invoices are sent on January 15th and due by February 1st). You may pay by cash, check, or credit card.
The Whittington Studio, The Kinston Community Council for the Arts, and/or St. Thomas Episcopal Church shall not assume any financial responsibility for a student’s absence(s). Monthly rates are flat fees, and shall not be lowered nor refunded for missed lessons. Make-up lessons may be discussed and are based on the reason for the absence, but are not guaranteed. Please bear in mind that some months contain and extra week for which there is no additional charge. It is recommended that you attend regularly during these month in order for you to compensate for absences you may incur during the year.
If, for some reason, a lesson must be missed, please notify me at least one week (or not less than 24 hours if possible) in advance. Please be certain to do so by telephone as e-mail is not always reliable.
Discontinuation of Lessons
Should you decide to discontinue lessons at any given time during the year, I require a THIRTY (30) DAY WRITTEN NOTICE. Such notice should be delivered to me in writing or via email. I will not accept conversations, texts, or telephone messages as documentation for this notice. Regardless of when appropriate notice is given, the student or parent shall be financially responsible for the following thirty days of lessons whether the student chooses to attend or not.
